Blog 8: Research and Working EQ

1. My EQ is "What is the best way to keep the audience of all ages viewing your dance routine as a standing ovation?"

2. "What is the best way to keep the audience of all ages viewing your dance routine as a standing ovation?"

-Make your moves and your whole routine really complex. People will be amazed at the dancers and how they can memorize such difficult and spontaneous dance sequences. Your dance routine will be remembered definitely for its difficulty.

-Format your transitions so they correspond to certain parts of the song. For example, if there is an "explosion" sound in the song, have the crew do something that represents an explosion. If there is a rising sound before the song "drops the bass" have one dancer, or a few, move their arms in a rising wave motions to represent the rising sound. Songs with lyrics help a lot in formatting your dance routine.

3. The most important source(s) that helped me come up with answers to my EQ are my interviews and research checks.

4. My main mentor is Heather Gonzalez and I shadow at The Lab Creative Arts Studio. Shadowing other hip hop dance teachers contribute to my ideas for different dance moves and teaching methods for choreography.
